Site Survey

AIT Partnership Group will initially conduct a site survey to determine the suitability of a wireless WAN installation. We will produce a report on the physical, architectural, geographical and electrical limitations of the site and their effect on a wireless solution. Surveys can be carried out for internal LANs, building to building and backhaul applications.

If the wireless link to be installed is near line-of-sight or non-line-of-sight then it is imperative that we temporarily install the link at the two ends. The point of this survey is to define the free space path loss of the link. It is this figure that defines the link's performance.

A professional AIT Partnership Group site survey saves our customers time and money by:

  • Not wasting time designing an inappropriate solution.
  • Identifying all the issues involved in the installation so that the installation team are fully prepared.
  • Setting the correct performance expectation so that our customers know exactly what will be delivered.
  • Ensuring that the installation is successful first time without the need for repeated visits.

The site survey is fully documented along with mounting procedures and customer requirements in our site survey report. During this time any planning considerations that may arise in listed buildings and conservation areas are documented. Full health and safety documentation such as Method Statements and Risk Assessments are provided along with the site survey.

Licensing Requirements. AIT Partnership Group can provide consultancy for the application and sourcing of any licenses from OFCOM or local planning considerations.
